Erin Pinder - Level 8 Barbados Gymnast
Erin age 13 - student of The St. Michael school recently competed in the 7th Barbados Invitational Meet held at the Providence School. She competed in the level 7 category and received gold on vault and bars, silver on floor and bronze on beam. She took the gold medal all round. Her all round score of 36.675 was also the highest for the 3rd session of the meet.
Erin also competed in the Crown of Carolina meet in South Carolina, The Presidential Classic and Magical Classic in Florida and the Tots and Tumblers meets in Trinidad this season
RACE CAR DRIVER
Zane Maloney place 3rd after a thrilling race in the first
28 January 2018 Adria (Italia) Kart Race.
OK Senior race of the season in Adria, Italy back in January. Zane later competed over the weekend in La Conca. Zane is a top GO cart racer in Barbados has now elevated to car racing.
Zane Maloney, now fourteen years old, has been blessed to be able to travel to Europe and compete amongst the best in the world in Karting. He joined Ricky Flynn Motorsports, a top British team, in January 2017 and has travelled to Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Sweden and the UK. Some of his best results were 2nd in WSK championship in Sarno, Italy and 5th in the World Championship in PFI England. He also competed in Daytona in December 2017 and won the WKA Manufacturers Cup. He has taken on a new challenge for 2018 and had moved up to the senior group and will be competing amongst professional drivers in their twenties. He recently came 3rd in WSK Champions Cup in Adria, Italy in January 2018 in his first senior competition. Zane also won the WSK in March this year. Zane has so much to be thankful for and St Gabriel’s school has played a significant part in molding him to be the confident, humble young man he is today.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TENNIS
Dana has been selected to represent Barbados in the under 14 World Juniors Lawn Tennis tournament in Guatemala. The competition will see the team competing in the doubles and singles event.
Twelve-year-old Layla Haynes created a stir in the Under-17 Girl's 1500 metres, winning the event in 4:53.20, beating the CARIFTA standard which was set at 5:02.00. Were she eligible, Haynes could have competed among the Under-20s as she also surpassed their time of 4:55.00. However, the CARIFTA games regulation is that an athlete must be 14 and over to participate.

The 2017 Sagicor Barbados Open Champions, James Johnson and Alyssa Inniss-Gittens.
The perennial golfing champion grabbed his 14th Barbados Open title yesterday (Sunday), shrugging off a challenge from fellow Barbados player Simon Proverbs at the Royal Westmoreland course.
Johnson emerged winner of the 2017 Sagicor Barbados Open by 11 strokes, posting an impressive six-under-par 66 on the third and final day, for a three-day gross 213 while Proverbs finished second with a gross 224.
Among the women, it was also a day of jubilation for 16-year-old Alyssa Inniss-Gittens who led from start to finish to capture her first Barbados Open title.
Leading by six strokes after an impressive 74 on the first day, and a wobble on the second day when she posted 80, Alyssa rebounded with another 74 on the final day that secured her first major championship.

Zahra is a team player! Zahra, a national junior player and Combined School player in the women's league. She will be representing Barbados on the Junior team Starz in this years up and coming summer's Lesser Antilles 3x3 under 18 Basketball tournament.
